Well, we’ve all gotten our wish for Braylon Edwards, and the cancer he has become to be shipped out of town.
The questions now becomes apparent. Where do the Browns go from here, and who’s next out the front door in Berea?

As I think about the Rooney Rule and what it does, I can’t help but think it’s the very reason that we as a country are still not solidified as one. It uses race as a tool and uses the color of ones skin as a determining factor.
Let me give you a quick history lesson here. The Rooney Rule was enacted by the NFL in 2003, and essentially, what it does is require NFL teams with a Head Coaching vacancy to interview a minority candidate, basically requiring teams to operate within the affirmative action hiring guidelines set forth years ago. The rule itself was drafted by and named after Dan Rooney, the owner of the Pittsburgh Steelers and Chairman of the NFL’s Diversity Committee. Since the inception of the rule, the NFL’s head coaching numbers have swayed. Currently, 22% of the coaches in the NFL are of minority decent, up from 6% prior to the rule change. Simply put, more Black and minority coaches are being given Head Coaching jobs, and I’m all for that. I’m in support of equality, and seeing beyond the color of one man’s skin.
That being said, I think the rule is a pointless measure enacted by the NFL.

You all know what the award is, let’s just get right to it……
This week’s winner is a guy whom I, as a Browns fan, was extremely pleased that they drafted in 2005. As a matter of fact, the night before the draft was my wedding night, and I remember having a great time that night at the Doubletree Hotel and Resort. I’ll spare you the details though…..Anyway, my wife and I wake up and go down for a nice breakfast with family and friends and we get there just before the Browns were set to draft. I stepped away from the table and sat there on that terrible hotel couch, just praying and asking the football gods to let my team finally do something right and have the the Browns take him. My wife will tell that I literally jumped around like an idiot when ol’ Pauly T announced that they had selected him! I was so proud and happy that my team, The Cleveland Browns, finally made a selection of someone who was a “can’t miss”.
I’m taking my ball and I’m going home…..

This award goes to the person or persons in the world of professional sports that make the biggest ass of themselves or whom they represent, by making mistakes, lying, cheating, stealing and just doing douchey things or being douchey in general.
This weeks award goes to a guy who actually has been decent for the Cleveland Browns in GM Phil Savage, and he’s the recipient of the award this week. The reason for the award this week is simple, for being a First Class A-Hole to one of the many people who essentially help pay his salary. Phil Savage, to his credit, has been a decent GM for the Browns and has helped make that team a better team through the draft and some of his Free Agent acquisitions. I can’t agree with the Gary Baxter move, or the deal with Jeff Faine…but that’s here nor there…and will be saved for another post. Regardless he’s the winner this week….
