We figured after receiving literally hundreds and hundreds of emails asking questions about everything from the NHL to Polo, we’d take some time here and answer these questions. Usually, we’re very diligent about answering questions we receive via email with an email back, however, the site’s growing popularity and fans responses has limited our ability to answer as often as we would like, so, this is a new recurring post entitled “Sports Uncut answers YOUR questions” and basically, every week, we’re going to take 5 of the best questions we get, and answer them the way we do things here. Factually and with little regard for the status quo. So, read on Sports Uncut followers! Maybe it’s your question that’ll be answered!
“Was Brett Favre’s coming back to the Minnesota Vikings a good thing?” from Vince in St.Paul.
Well Vince, it depends on who you ask at this point. There are those that believe Brett Favre is the answer to their QB issues and will lead them to the Superbowl, and there are those that believe this is Brett’s last chance to get headline status on the evening SportsCenter, and is not much of an upgrade over T-Jax or Sage Rosenfels. I think we’re all somewhere in the middle on this one. Personally, I think that Brett Favre is a better option at QB rather than T-Jax or Sage, but, the difference isn’t so dramatic, at least at this point in Favre’s career, that it makes me believe that he can single handedly deliver unto them a Superbowl berth.
There are 2 big questions for Minnesota right now, and there names are Kevin and Patrick Williams. we all know what happened with those 2 loads, and their “Starcaps”, which is a dietary supplement that contains banned chemicals per the NFL’s requirements. Well, they (Kevin and Pat) are using a Minnesota Statute related to workplace drug testing to get the results disallowed. I don’t know that it’ll work, but in theory, it could. That said, It won’t and both the Williams’ will be suspended for 4 games at some point. a Minnesota Federal Court judge is supposed to hand down an answer this week regarding this case. The NFL will act swiftly either way, if they are found not guilty per Minnesota statutes, the NFL has already said they’ll appeal to a higher court, and if it’s a favorable ruling for the NFL, they’ll suspend them immediately.
Bottom line here; the NFL will have their way, and it’s now or later for the Williams’ boys, and if I’m a Viking fan, I’m hoping that they get suspended now, and not later, say in week 10-12 for 4 weeks right in the middle of the playoff push!
